The Vital Perspectives on Healthcare and Science series returns for an exciting November event. This series engages with some of the most pressing public health issues of our time, in a regular public forum catalyzed by a book. The November event features Nathan Gray, MD, an Assistant Professor of Palliative Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, whose new book, The Human Remains: Drawing Out Compassion in Medicine perfectly captures the spirit of the Vital Perspectives event series. This is a remarkable graphic memoir tracing Gray’s path from an anxious student with a scalpel to an exhausted resident to a physician able to sit with his patients’ suffering. It’s all about about what medical training takes and what it might give back. Dr. Soha Bayoumi will join Dr. Gray in conversation. This event is open to the public, and we encourage you to come join in!
