The Vital Perspectives on Healthcare and Science series engages with some of the most pressing public health issues of our time, in a regular public forum catalyzed by a book. For the October event, we are delighted to welcome Dr. Hanna Garth, Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Princeton University, to share her new book Food Justice Undone: Lessons for Building a Better Movement. Drawing on twelve years of ethnographic research, Garth examines what motivates people from more affluent, majority-white areas of the city to intervene in South Central Los Angeles. Food Justice Undone breaks open the privilege and promise of food justice to envision a radical liberatory future. Dr. Nicole Labruto will join Dr. Allen in conversation.
